More than ten Indian universities and colleges already run collaborative programmes with Assumption. The India Office designs each arrangement with the partner institution rather than handing over a template — because a twinning programme that ignores your semester dates, your credit structure and your approvals process will not survive its first cohort.
What an arrangement can look like.
Most partnerships start with one model and add others once the relationship is working. There is no requirement to take all six.

Twinning
Students complete one or two semesters at your institution in India and the remaining semesters at Assumption in Bangkok. The degree is awarded by Assumption University of Thailand. This gives your students an international degree at a lower total cost and a shorter time abroad. How twinning works →
- Model 02
Semester abroad
A student enrolled with you spends one semester at Assumption. Credits transfer back once the programme has been validated between the two institutions, and your institution awards the degree. The lowest-commitment way to start a relationship. How credit transfer works →
- Model 03
Student exchange
Reciprocal movement of students in both directions for a semester or a short module. Works best once a semester-abroad arrangement has run at least one cycle and both registries trust the paperwork.

Faculty exchange
Assumption faculty teach modules or run seminars at your campus; your faculty do the same in Bangkok. Often the fastest route to a real academic relationship, and the one that produces joint research and co-supervision later.

Joint workshops and short programmes
Co-designed short programmes — a week-long intensive, a certificate module, a research methods school — delivered at either campus or split across both. A good way to test whether the academic fit is real before signing anything larger.

Joint and double degree programmes
A structured joint award, with its own published fee schedule — Fees for Joint & Double Degree — separate from the standard international rate. Heavier to set up than twinning, and the right answer where both institutions want their name on the parchment.

Campus visits and industrial tours

What both universities actually sign up to.
Assumption's memorandum of understanding commits both institutions to promote the following exchange activities, according to their respective academic and educational needs. It is deliberately broad — the point is to open the door, not to pre-commit either side to a specific programme.

Professors, advanced graduate fellows and researchers, together with professional staff members.

Curricula, teaching materials, library and research resources.

Including work intended for eventual publication in academic and professional journals.

Joint research programmes together with the exchange of information about conferences and workshops, and mutual assistance to participate in them.

Distance education and information technology
Collaboration on online and technology-mediated delivery — often the cheapest way to keep a partnership alive between cohorts.

Other relevant educational activities
Any further feasible activity undertaken in the spirit of developing education for the mutual benefit of the parties, their students and the public.

Supporting activities and services
Language training, orientation programmes and preparatory courses are expressly contemplated — the practical scaffolding that makes an exchange work for students who have not studied abroad before.

International collaboration is no longer a nice-to-have for Indian institutions — it appears in accreditation and ranking frameworks, in NEP-aligned internationalisation targets, and increasingly in what applicants ask about on open day.
